It’s so hard to find any information about “Color” by G.A.Y. (now YOU) because every word in that phrase is in practically every site.
So while BoxSpeaker can’t state much about the band, we can wonder is their name “G.A.Y.” or “You” but formerly “G.A.Y.” or “G.A.Y. (now YOU)”?
Old but so so good – Dan Black‘s cover of Bruce Springsteen’s “Dancing in the Dark” – renamed “Drowning in the Dark Drake” gives the Boss’s classic single dancey hi-hats.
French electropop trio Portland released their single “Deezy Daisy” via iTunes and the Maison Kitsune shop. It’s a very upbeat 80s pop sound mixed with Lily Pejon’s sultry French-accented vocals.

Fun Fact: Portland’s singer is Lily Pejon, who also appears in other BoxSpeaker favorites such as the acoustic billiards hall version of “One by One” by The Napoleons and in her own cover of “Wooden Chair” by Angus Stone.
This song is actually pretty old – I got it from a bunch of French music that my uncle gave me in 2010.
Brisa Roche’s “Whistle” is a modern woman’s interpretation of a cowboy folk The Carter Family type of style with a French-sounding voice, maybe even with a bit of a lofi take on Patsy Cline’s style.
Brisa Roche – though famous for French songs and a very French-accented singing voice – is actually originally from the US.
